Round 1 of the 3 race Townsville Triathlon Club Summer Aquathon Series has been run in warm and humid conditions. A good number of athletes toed the start line under grey skies and nil wind. New and old faces alike, and some bleary-eyed. A quick sprint around Anzac Park (for the front runners at least), one lap for the short course and two for the long course; then into the mirrored over pool. We had the pool to ourselves, so everyone had plenty of room. A lot of positions were swapped during the swim and subsequent run, swim and run. 32 competitors and one team of two crossed the finish line. A good morning was had by all and everyone's time was recorded (see below), setting up the chance to check improvement at the next race.
